I've been collecting horns for about 3 years now (have close to 100 instruments currently) and am getting ready to open up shop this summer in my downtown home location in beautiful Glenwood Springs Colorado.

Please read the blurb below.Note about Up Your Brass: I am a comeback french horn player playing in the local symphony, small brass ensembles and chamber groups and am just starting out with Jazz Aspen offering instruction. However, selling this lovely instrument will help me to continue on my brass shop journey in catering predominantly to the local market here in Western Colorado. Eventually I could have found parts needed to make this complete as I would only take care of this beauty with original parts. Spring hinges also function properly and case is not musty.Play ready instrument, high register really pops I'm a french horn player and quite square, but I love how this horn plays other friends usually review the high range of trumpets for me if an opinion is offered. This Instrument is not complete, missing finger hook, lock-out screw, lyre and lyre screw. I'm assuming this is the original crocodile style case (GO Chadsey Explorers!) which is in good usable condition with frayed ends and some peeling but solid, the mouthpiece lock latch is broken, but I have the broken piece included, the main spring lock latch functions properly with no key and the hinges lock down properly as well.

Tom, the Buescher expert at trumpetmaster says the Kelly Mellophone mouthpieces function on this instrument as well, but I've read mixed reviews. The second valve slide could use some detailed fit work as it is a little loose, I don't have the tool sets currently to do this detailed service, I can shrink but not expand tubing (this is not a personal problem).Instrument comes with an original 6 1/2 True Tone mouthpiece which is required with this receiver. Short throw valves feel very smooth and are fast. Spec Info is from the Buescher Loyalist Site.Horn has been cleaned in a hot water bath (I don't think this instrument needs an ultrasonic or chem bath) and swabbed, polished, valves detailed, valves aligned, slides detailed, waterkey cork replaced. Second valve slide has had dents removed. Finish is about 95%, overall condition is excellent with minor pings and scratches and silver wear through spots in the hand hold areas. 439 at second valve slide) has the famous Buescher patented Split-No-Tone Bell 4 3/8" in beautiful gold leaf pattern and gold washed inside.
